Who We Are - Fragile Ocean and Hobie Surf Shops
THE WHO & WHY
Fragile Ocean was founded in 2003 by Brandon Lane of Sundance Graphics to promote awareness of the threat posed to local and international reefs and shorelines by pollution and urban runoff. Hobie was founded in 1950 by Hobie Alter and has a proud tradition of respectful interaction with the environment and sustainable living.
Together, Fragile Ocean and Hobie have formed a team of people raised with Southern California beach sand between our toes that are dedicated to promoting a pristine ocean environment. We’ve witnessed firsthand the eco-devastation of urban runoff in Southern California and it is time to take steps to reverse this man-made damage. We’re hoping our efforts, combined with those of each of you reading this, will help foster change in the way we perceive and protect our coastal environment.
Thankfully, you can be part of the solution! A portion of all Fragile Ocean proceeds will help fund educational programs that teach our children the importance of environmental responsibility along with other grass-roots efforts on the “Front Line” in the fight against environmental complacency.
